Puerto Rico Hotels Puerto Rico's zone which is most popular with cruisers is the San Juan zone. The other zones on the island are approprite for longer pre- or post-cruise stays, but we'll only look at San Juan here. Feel free to contact me if you would like information on the other island zones. Here is a listing of the reported Priceline Hotels: San Juan Resort: San Juan Boutique: San Juan 3*: Hotwire in San Juan can be a terrific option, as many hotels are identified. While the prices tend to be a bit higher than what you can find on Priceline, you also have a terrific selection. Below are the properties in San Juan which have been identified to date. 5* - Wyndham El San Juan Hotel and Casino is a terrific true resort hotel in the Isla Verde area. Full amenities list: Resort, Beach Access, Beachfront, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa, Laundry Facilities. Note: You will need to click "view hotel's amenities" link to see the entire amenities list. Otherwise, the visible icons will only show through Golf Nearby. Also note: the "Beach Access" icon doesn't always show up. 4* - Caribe Hilton - this hotel made famous for the invention of the Pina Colada, is a favorite of cruisers. Identify it through these amenity icons: Beach Access, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Tennis Nearby, Spa. Note the "Beach Access" icon may not show up. 4* - InterContinental San Juan - Lovely hotel and grounds in the Isla Verde area with excellent reviews. The identifiable amenity icons are Beach Access, Beachfront, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Business Center, Tennis Nearby, Spa. Note that the "Beach Access" icon doesn't always show up with this hotel. 4* - Water Club - A true "Boutique" hotel, it has a very hip style and lots of amenities. Might not be a good "family" hotel, but great for adults wanting something a bit more stylish. Tends to be a bit more expensive. To select this hotel, look for: Beach Access, Pool, Fitness Center. Those icons are a bit general, but to date are specific enough to identify this property. 3.5* - Wyndham Condado Plaza - This is a good oceanfront hotel, but do note that it doesn't have a true beach area. If that is important to you, you might want to select a different hotel. The specific amenity icons for identification are: Beach Access, Casino, Oceanfront (No Beach Access), Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf Course Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa, Laundry Facilities. Note - all the icons are only shown when you click "view amentities." Otherwise, you will only see the amenity icons up to Golf Course Nearby. 3.5* - Embassy Suites - A popular pre-cruise hotel offers the typical Embassy Suites amenities and a gorgeous property. Identification can be made when you see the following amenity icons: Suite, Beach Access, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Complimentary Breakfast, Kitchenette, Business Center, Laundry Facilities 3.5* - Wyndham Old San Juan Hotel and Casino - Nice pre-cruise hotel directly across from one of the cruise ship piers. Quite popular with cruisers. Look for: Casino, Oceanfront (No Beach Access), Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Tennis Nearby, Laundry Facilities. Note this property has recently been upgraded to a 3.5* from 3* 3* - Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel - Good, basic pre-cruise hotel. The identifiable amenity icons are: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center. There has been one other hotel which has come up
frequently, but that I've not yet been able to identify. It sometimes
shows as a 4* "Customer Favorite" with the Beachfront, Pool, Tennis
Nearby and Spa icons. You can tell from the above identified properties
what it is not, but we're not sure what it is. It's possible it's the
Marriott, though Marriott is not a big participant with Hotwire, and without the
"Casino" icon I find it unlikely. If you happen to purchase this
